Whatsapp and instagram down

Users of WhatsApp have tweeted that one of the world's most popular instant messaging apps has not been working for some time now. Some Instagram users also reported that the app is down.

No messages were getting delivered on WhatsApp, users tweeted, while no content could be loaded on the photo- and video-sharing app Instagram.

WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Facebook Messenger users are currently reporting issues with the apps on Android, iOS as well as PC. While Instagram and Facebook users are unable to update their news feed, WhatsApp users are unable to send or receive any messages. According to the tracking website DownDetector, more than 32,000 people have reported issues with WhatsApp. As for Instagram and Facebook, over 28,000 and 1,300 reports have been registered so far.

The official account of WhatsApp on Twitter has not posted any message on the issue yet.

The outage tracking website downdetector.com reported that all three Facebook-owned apps - Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram - were not working globally.

It is not clear whether the outage was global or just India-centric. However, there were over 30,000 tweets about users not being able to connect to WhatsApp (web and the app), Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

In India, the problem started at approximately 11 pm an there was not update about the outage from Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.

In February end, people across the UK were experiencing similar issues as the were unable to connect to the social media platforms owned my Facebook.
